Position description The Global and Community Health (GCH) Program at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be appointed to teach undergraduate courses in varied global and community health topics, under the direction of the GCH Co-Directors. Applicants with expertise in scholarly communications including research writing, review, conference presentations, and online portfolios are encouraged to apply. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the inclusive excellence of the academic community through their teaching and other assigned duties. Successful applicants may be appointed to teach courses that either: 1) teach students from across disciplines to examine the medical, cultural, and public health concepts necessary in a post-COVID world; 2) teach GCH seniors about e-portfolio webpages that will comprise their capstone "GCH e-Record" designed to communicate their disciplinary and interdisciplinary learning in their degree to a specific audience beyond the university; or, 3) lead a collaborative & interdisciplinary student group to conduct rigorous research on real world health challenges with a view to describing the associated problems accurately and recommending responses. Applicants with any of the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply: MPH; DrPH; or PhD in public health, infectious diseases or communications.
