POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in the organization goals by serving as an educational resource when supporting and working in collaboration with the Center for Learning (CFL) team and associates across the system, will develop, coordinate, and implement clinical and continuing education programs, always striving for evidence-based and standardized clinical practice to achieve optimal outcomes. Oversee and facilitate program offerings and support day-to-day workflow processes. Additionally, the Instructor will teach all course offerings and may function as a Nursing Practice Coach as needed.PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
Serve as an educational resource and support the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education programs Oversee current OJT programs and help to build new pipeline programs to support the organizational needs Recruit and develop qualified instructors to maintain an adequate pool of instructors to meet demand Develop and maintain course schedules with appropriate instructors and locations Facilitate the process for the staff to assume responsibility for maintaining competency in practice Facilitate learning by creating an environment in a clinical setting or classroom that supports the achievement of desired cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes. Create opportunities for learners to develop their critical thinking and critical reasoning skills. Pursue Continuous Quality Improvement in the Nurse Educator role, to demonstrate ongoing commitment and maintain competence. Facilitate learner development to enhance teaching students develop, based on Benner's theory. Collaborate with leadership to support action plans with learning experiences. Maintain documentation and initiate program folders (AHA, Continuing Education, etc.) Conduct research for special projects by preparing data, providing follow up, and response to inquiries (surveys, applications, permits, retreats, web-site monitoring). Work ExperienceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma.Work Experience:
Two (2) years of clinical experience.Licensure:
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida or endorsement.Certification:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Microsoft Office Suite and other software and platforms related to role. Time Management. Decision Making. Critical Thinking. Communication. Teamwork.PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).Work Experience:
Previous nursing management or education experience.Certification:
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card. American Heart Association Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (AHA NRP) Healthcare Provider Completion Card. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA PALS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Facilitation. Highly developed organizational skills to include time management, decision making, and problem solving. Communication skills both verbal and non-verbal. Excellent customer and interpersonal skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently. May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead. May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift. May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise. May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined.
