Job Description
The Florida State University College of Law invites applications for the position of Clinical Professor and Co-Director of Externships, to begin as early as August 2026. This position oversees externships at Judicial, Federal/State/Local Government, Public Interest, International, Corporate, and Law Firm placements. The faculty member will also teach one course for J.D. credit each year. Duties include coordinating externship supervision with approximately 100 externship sites, reviewing student applications and placing them in externships, counseling students, and teaching weekly Perspectives classes for externship programs. The position is responsible for engaging in regular outreach to existing and potential externship sites, serving as the contact for student concerns and inquiries regarding externship placements, and ensuring that all externships comply with ABA Standards for Legal Education as well as University regulations. In consultation with the Dean and the Faculty Curriculum Committee, the co-Directors will help shape the College of Law's rules and regulations applicable to externships.
