The instructor will primarily teach and supervise students during clinical rotations on Wednesdays, ensuring they gain hands-on experience in patient care within a hospital or healthcare setting. Duties Provide clinical supervision and instruction to nursing students during Med Surg rotations on Wednesdays, ensuring safe and effective patient care practices. Develop, review, and update curriculum materials aligned with accreditation standards, including simulation methods and online instruction modules using learning management systems such as Blackboard or LMS platforms. Facilitate engaging classroom discussions, practical demonstrations, and teaching simulations to enhance students' critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills. Assess student performance through documentation review, care plan evaluations, and competency assessments; provide constructive feedback to support their professional growth. Collaborate with hospital staff, nurse managers, and faculty to ensure compliance with educational regulations and hospital policies while maintaining high standards of patient safety. Incorporate research findings into teaching practices and contribute to curriculum development efforts that reflect current healthcare trends such as ICU care, pediatrics, primary care, and adult education. Support diversity by working with students from various cultural backgrounds, fostering an inclusive learning environment that promotes equity in healthcare education. Skills Proven supervising experience in clinical or educational settings within healthcare or nursing programs. Strong knowledge of LMS platforms like Blackboard for online instruction and curriculum management. Experience working in teaching hospitals or healthcare facilities with a focus on patient care across acute care, ICU, pediatric, and senior care settings. Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation review processes, care plans, and healthcare compliance regulations. Expertise in teaching simulation methods and utilizing learning technology to enhance student engagement and competency development. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with post-secondary students from diverse backgrounds while fostering a supportive educational environment. Background in nursing administration or nurse management is a plus; critical care experience including ICU or acute care is highly desirable.
