Biomedical Innovation #MED319a at The University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois Posted in 4 days ago. $10,999.00 - $11,001.00 per year Description The Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago seeks a part-time lecturer to develop and teach a course in the Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (BMS) program (https://biomed.bsd.uchicago.edu). The position is part-time and renewable. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits ineligible. The appointee will serve as the primary instructor for the graduate-level course, which should ideally provide students with an overview of key milestones for developing a new biomedical venture, and the value created at each inflection point. The elective course is open to Master's students in the Biological Sciences Division but may also be open to other students with permission of the instructor. The lecturer will be required to develop (with assistance from a teaching assistant) all course materials, including the development and management of a Canvas Learning Management System course site. Courses run for nine weeks, with the tenth week for a final project or exam. It is preferable that the course meets in the late afternoon either 1 or 2 days a week for a total of 3 hours, although the exact day(s)/time(s) will be determined in consultation with the Lecturer. The class is offered in-person on the University's main campus in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must have a graduate level degree in a relevant field.
