Job Description
This may include teaching topics across gross anatomy, histology, embryology and neuroscience, as necessary. WAUSM does not currentlyinclude dissection in its curriculum; instead, faculty employ integrated, active teaching methods that connect structure with function anddisease. WAUSM provides an exciting opportunity for individuals that wish to join an energetic team of medical educators that arecommitted to a fresh, new, dynamic, and innovative medical education program. Our students study medicine in a highly integrated,systems-based curriculum that incorporates active learning strategies into large and small group settings. With a powerful focus on active,case-based learning; robust simulation; and early exposure to clinical patients, WAUSM students have an integrated learning experience withindividualized support that prepares them to excel in the clerkship portion of their studies, and beyond. We seek outstanding, team-orientedteachers who share our excitement in our dynamic and innovative educational program. The pre-clerkship foundational sciences program isbuilt around a 5-semester (15 weeks per term) model of instruction with basic science concepts and competencies related to patient centeredcare integrated and woven throughout. The current campus includes multi-functional academic learning spaces, student study, tutoring andleisure space , faculty offices and collaboration areas, simulation and clinical exam rooms and outdoor spaces. WAUSM operateson three terms per year with a new class of students matriculating each term. Therefore, teaching duties and administrative responsibilitiescontinue throughout the year. A focus on teaching, student learning and support is paramount, and we look to individuals who can provideexcellence in these areas. Positions are located in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island.
