at Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois, United States Job Description Description Responsible for teaching clinical courses for the Associate in Applied Science Dental Hygiene degree program. Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)
Essential Job Functions:
In cooperation with other Dental Hygiene instructors suggest revisions for course outlines syllabi and manuals for courses offered in their division and submit to the Division chair or appropriate Administrator for review. Supervise students in clinics assigned by the Division chair and approved by the Vice President following course outlines and clinical manuals. Attend calibration meetings and adhere to the clinical teaching methods prescribed by the faculty while adhering to the appropriate grading rubrics. Arrive in the clinic prior to the scheduled class time remain in the clinic during assigned clinical periods and assist the students in developing their clinical skills while evaluating student performance. Consider the general and special needs of the student. Assist students in meeting needs or solving problems when necessary. Seek additional help and refer students to other college services Observe support and enforce the regulations policies and programs of the College and inform the President in writing of any problem that might have a detrimental effect on the College Report attendance and grades as prescribed by the department. Assist in the student reception area as needed. Keep track supplies and notify the director. Conduct oneself in a professional manner Notify the appropriate Administrator well in advance of absences. Other duties as assigned.
Specific Functional Job Requirements Education Requirements:
Minimum of a Associates in Applied Science Degree with a major in Dental Hygiene and a current Illinois Dental Hygiene or Dental License.
Experience Requirements:
Must have at least 1 year of clinical experience.
Knowledge:
Must have knowledge of current clinical treatment standards
Skills:
Must be clinically competent in patient centered dental hygiene practice
