A Health Sciences Professor teaches foundational health science ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, lab experience, field experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the health science curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.

Job Description
Qualifications Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- A PhD, MD, or equivalent terminal degree in Biomedical and Health Informatics or a closely related field
- Expertise in one or more areas of BHI, with a strong scholarly record
- External research funding commensurate with experience and academic rank
- Interest in both independent and collaborative research within a highly interdisciplinary environment Areas of Strategic Interest While candidates with expertise across all areas of BHI are encouraged to apply, the department has a strong strategic interest in artificial intelligence-driven approaches to biomedical and medical research, including:
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning methods (e.g., deep learning, neural networks, foundation models) for biomedical and clinical applications
- AI-enabled analysis of clinical and translational data, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and other real-world data sources
- Natural language processing and multimodal modeling of clinical text, imaging, and other unstructured health data
- Big data analytics and data science approaches that support scalable, reproducible, and trustworthy AI in healthcare
- AI-driven learning healthcare systems, clinical decision support, and precision medicine
- Spatial data analytics and GIS-based health research, including integration with AI methods for population and public health studies Collaborative Environment Faculty benefit from extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration across CWRU and its affiliated institutions, including:
