A Health Sciences Professor teaches foundational health science ideas, truths, and methods to students through a combination of classroom instruction, lab experience, field experience, and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the health science curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.
Summary of Position Provide clinical, laboratory, and/or didactic instruction in an accredited dental hygiene program. Responsible for supervising and evaluating student performance, facilitating the development of clinical competencies, maintaining accurate attendance and grade records, and supporting student success in both classroom and clinical settings. Expectation to utilize learning management systems, participate in departmental meetings as needed, and ensure compliance with program, college, and professional standards. Position Information Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be remote or at various locations.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least an earned bachelor's degree in dental Hygiene or a related health field; at least two years of clinical experience as a dental hygienist; current Ohio Dental Hygiene License; must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in dental hygiene or a related field . Experience teaching in a dental hygiene program at the undergraduate level using Blackboard Ultra or similar learning management system . Computer literate in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Dentrix, and Blackboard or similar learning platforms. Certification in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration and monitoring. Currently registered Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) in the state of Ohio.
Physical Requirements:
In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform light work.
Light:
work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects, requiring: (1) walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time while pushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production rate pace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight or the materials is negligible.
