Responsibilities

• GSI duties vary by course but may include teaching discussion sections, helping prepare course lectures and other class materials, exam proctoring, grading student assessments, holding office hours, and regular teaching team meetings.

Candidates should expect to perform these duties in-person. All positions may have a limited # hours required outside of class for grading meetings (~10 hours per semester). Faculty will work with GSIs to schedule these meetings.

• All first time GSIs (those who have not previously taught at the University of Michigan) will be required to attend CRLT's Teaching Orientation as a term of their employment.
• Required Qualifications
• Applicant must be currently enrolled as a graduate student in good standing at the University of Michigan. Ability to effectively teach and evaluate undergraduate students. Desired Qualifications
• Broad knowledge of varied aspects of public health; commitment to equity and inclusion in the classroom; doctoral students with Master's degree preferred; previous GSI experience with favorable student evaluations.
