Working Title Part-Time Clinical Assistant Professor Physician Assistant CoHP 2026-2027 Location Rio Grande Valley, Texas Division/Organization Division of Health Affairs Appointment Period for Non-Tenure Position Tenure Status Non Tenure Track FTE Scope of Job We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's student body as a Part-Time Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Physician Assistant beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide student instruction and teach courses (didactic and/or clinical) as assigned by the Program Director/Department Chair.
• Supervise students in didactic and/or clinical courses and activities.
• Provide direct clinical instruction to PA students during supervised patient care experiences.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of student performance.
• Perform other program and department level duties, as assigned.

Applicants must have a Doctorate and/or a Master's degree from an accredited US institution. 3. Physician Assistant applicants must be NCCPA certified. 4. Physician Assistants and MD/DOs must have an active, non-restricted Texas Medical Board license. Discipline Specific Required Qualifications Preferred Qualification Preferred (but not required) qualifications include two(2) years of experience in clinical practice, demonstrated strong leadership skills, and success in teaching PA students as a preceptor in clinical practice. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
