NO Position Purpose:

The Manager of Graduate Medication Education (GME) manages the operational and budgetary oversight for the GME Department. Key Responsibilities
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of GME programs to ensure they operate and are in compliance with accreditation and licensing requirements.
  • Coordinates with Medical Staff leadership to administer GME functions.
  • Provides overall strategic, budgetary, and operational leadership for the GME program.
  • Coordinate's relationships and contracts with outside institutions (sponsoring Postgraduate Training Institution and Professional Schools).
  • Works closely with CMO, ADIO, Program Directors and Coordinators, faculty, and hospital departments to provide leadership and management of undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education programs.
  • Leads the planning and implementation of new resident orientation including the credentialing and provisioning of all incoming residents.
  • Responsible for assisting residents in the preparation, organization, and follow up involved with hospital accreditation, GME accreditation, and regulatory compliance related to GME performance.
  • Plays a key role in the development of systems and procedures that promote clinical performance and superior delivery of care.

Five years of experience in related field or capacity
Skills/Knowledge:
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills
  • Highly motivated, and detailed orientated
  • Ability to exercise mature and sound judgment in the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures
  • Effective interpersonal, public speaking, and writing skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare concise, accurate reports
  • Knowledge of current state and federal regulatory requirements
Preferences Certification:
Training Administrators for Graduate Medical Education (TAGME), or
GME Leadership Development Certification Program Experience:
Ten years of experience in related field or capacity
Special Position Requirements Category III:
Expected duties do not have potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues Work Requirements
  • Ability to sit for 6-7 hours daily, either at a desk or at a computer terminal
