Description:
Do you have experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, development operations, or administrative support? Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Development Associate to support fundraising, donor stewardship, volunteer programs, events, and communications. This position serves as an important support hub for the Philanthropy & External Affairs team. You'll help keep donor information accurate, ensure gifts and acknowledgements are processed on time, coordinate volunteer and fundraising activities, and make sure important follow up happens consistently. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in growing their career in nonprofit fundraising and philanthropy.
Job Responsibilities:
Development & Donor Support Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters, tax documents, and donor correspondence Maintain accurate donor, foundation, corporate, and prospect records in Salesforce Support department meetings, scheduling, agendas, materials, and follow-up Help ensure donor and funder follow up is complete accurately and on time electronically through the records Reconcile donations with Finance team Fundraising Events Support planning and coordination of fundraising and donor events Coordinate sponsor benefits, recognition, materials, and correspondence Assist with donor tours, small gatherings, and cultivation activities Volunteer & Community Engagement Coordinate volunteer communications, schedules, materials, and appreciation efforts Maintain accurate volunteer records and track participation and hours In-Kind Giving Communicate with current and prospective in-kind donors Coordinate donation pick-ups and drop-offs with program and operations teams Identify community or corporate partners who may have potential for deeper engagement Communications & Social Media Draft and schedule basic social media posts promoting events, volunteer opportunities, donor recognition, and organizational updates Gather photos, stories, program updates, and other content for communications
Experience Required:
2-3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising operations, donor relations, or a related administrative role 2-3 years of experience using Salesforce or a comparable donor database/CRM Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to coordinate projects, manage, deadlines, and follow through Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy, changing environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Commitment to the non-profit mission and supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing instability
