We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly motivated Head Pickleball Pro to lead our pickleball programming and help create an exceptional experience for players of all levels. This individual will serve as a key ambassador for our pickleball community, providing high-quality instruction while developing engaging programs that encourage player development, competition, and community. The Head Pickleball Pro will have the flexibility to create their own schedule and develop a variety of programming, including private and group lessons, level-based clinics, ladders, round robins, tournaments, camps, and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead private lessons, group lessons, and clinics for a variety of skill levels Create innovative programming that drives participation and player development Organize and support ladders, round robins, tournaments, camps, and special events Build strong relationships with members and foster an inclusive, welcoming pickleball community Collaborate with club management to identify opportunities to expand and improve pickleball programming Represent the club professionally both on and off the court
Qualifications:
DUPR rating of 5.0+ High-level competitive and tournament experience Minimum of 5 years of pickleball coaching or teaching experience Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Proven ability to coach and connect with players across a range of skill levels Enthusiastic, professional, dependable, and community-focused This is a paid 1099 independent contractor position offering significant scheduling flexibility and the opportunity to take a leadership role in shaping and growing a thriving pickleball program. Duties Lead and coordinate all pickleball activities, including clinics, lessons, tournaments, and leagues to ensure a high-energy and enjoyable experience for participants. Provide professional coaching tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced players, emphasizing proper technique and sportsmanship. Manage court scheduling, maintenance, and safety protocols to maintain optimal playing conditions and ensure a secure environment. Foster a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with players, addressing their questions or concerns, and promoting community involvement. Train and supervise assistant coaches or staff members to uphold program standards and deliver consistent instruction. Organize special events such as beginner clinics or youth programs that encourage participation across all age groups. Maintain accurate records of program participation, progress reports, and safety incidents while ensuring adherence to health and safety guidelines. Requirements Proven experience in sports coaching or instruction, particularly in racket sports like pickleball or tennis. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple court operations efficiently. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Background in sports-specific training instruction with knowledge of proper technique development. Prior experience working with children or youth programs is highly desirable. Certifications in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED operation (Automated External Defibrillator), along with lifeguard experience or swimming skills are preferred for safety oversight. Familiarity with health club environments or gym settings enhances understanding of facility operations.
