The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced with medical insurance authorizations. Responsibilities Obtain and track prior authorizations Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorization requirements. Submit requests through insurance portals, fax, and telephone. Follow up on pending and denied authorizations. Maintain accurate authorization numbers, dates, and documentation. Review upcoming schedules to ensure authorizations are obtained before appointments and procedures. Communicate authorization status with scheduling. Obtain additional clinical documentation when required. Qualifications 1+ years of medical authorization experience preferred. Cardiology or specialty practice experience strongly preferred. Experience with insurance portals such as Availity. Strong organizational and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience is a plus.
