Education Coordinator Central Colorado Water Conservancy District Greeley, CO Job Details Full-time $24 - $29 an hour 6 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Interpersonal skills Research Driver's License Stakeholder relationship building Camp experience Full Job Description The Central Colorado Water Conservancy District (Central) was created to develop, manage, and protect water resources for Northeast Colorado since 1965. Since its inception, the Board of Directors' goal has been to advocate for and support the development of water resources within the South Platte River basin. Under the Executive Director's direction, the Education Coordinator manages and executes all public events for the Central Colorado Water Conservancy District, including the annual Children's Water Festival, coordinating booths for conferences and local events, high school scholarships, and internships, and ensuring CCWCD is always presented positively. Interaction with members of the Central District and the public is vital to the success of the role and the CCWCD. As a representative of the District, the Education Coordinator must always be professional and courteous when interacting with District employees, State employees, Water Commissioners, stakeholders, and the general public . The Education Coordinator is responsible for establishing, fostering, and maintaining good working relationships with many different stakeholders, including, but not limited to Central, GMS, and WAS members, community partners, Division of Water Resources staff, engineering and legal consultants, property owners, school district board members and employees, and other shareholders.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate all the following events: Help plan Public Bus Tour Help plan Conferences Children's Water Festival (twice a year) Fundraise for Children's Water Festival Confluence Institute (twice a year) Well Watch Program Public Outreach Middle School Summer Camp Plan, recruit for, and assist in classrooms when needed for the Well Watch program. Coordinate High School Senior Scholarships Coordinate College Internship Program Plan, coordinate meetings, and conduct research for all CCWCD education components.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience:
Previous experience in water conservancy or a similar industry, including outreach to the public regarding educational events Proficient skills in design software products (i.e. Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat or other design software) Proficient in Microsoft software products (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel) Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Team player with great communication skills Self-motivated and creative Requirements Must have a valid driver's license and ability to use their own vehicle for CCWCD purposes (mileage is reimbursed).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not supervise others.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily performed while working at a desk in an office setting.
Physical Requirements:
Alternate sitting or standing at will. Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
Travel Required:
Local travel up to 100 miles.
Compensation and Benefits Package:
The salary range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00 per hour, depending upon experience. Our health benefits include multiple plans to choose from with Kaiser or Anthem. Currently, the District contributes over $700 a month toward your health insurance. We offer a retirement plan through PERA and generous vacation, sick, and holiday time-off plans.
