12 month Full Time/ Exempt Job Summary The Director of Alumni Engagement is responsible for leading a comprehensive strategy that deepens lifelong relationships between Avon Old Farms School and its alumni community. This role is accountable for driving measurable increases in alumni engagement by creating meaningful pathways for connection. Success is defined by a highly engaged, responsive, and invested alumni base that actively contributes to the School's mission and future. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions Alumni Participation and Engagement Growth Achieve sustained year-over-year increases in alumni engagement through events, volunteerism and service. Ensure consistent, high-quality engagement opportunities that resonate across generations and geographies. Strategic Program Leadership Design and execute a multi-channel alumni engagement strategy aligned with institutional priorities. Deliver signature programs (reunions, regional events, networking initiatives) that strengthen affinity and drive measurable outcomes. Volunteer and Leadership Pipeline Development Build and maintain a high-performing alumni volunteer ecosystem (alumni council, class ambassadors, regional clubs, reunion committees, mentorship program). Establish clear expectations, accountability structures, and leadership pathways that result in active, effective volunteer participation. Fundraising Partnership Collaborate with the development team to increase donor pipeline health through engagement strategies to move alumni from connection to contribution. Data-Driven Decision Making Utilize CRM systems and analytics to track engagement, segment audiences, and refine strategy. Communications and Brand Stewardship Deliver compelling, consistent messaging that reinforces the value of lifelong connection to Avon. Strengthen alumni pride and identity through storytelling and strategic communications. Qualifications & Experience Required Bachelor's degree Experience in independent schools or higher education advancement preferred Familiarity with alumni engagement platforms and CRM systems Strongly prefer Event strategy and program management experience 5 + years of experience in alumni relations, advancement, or related field Demonstrated success in increasing constituent engagement Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experience managing volunteers or stakeholder groups Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across a complex organization Working Conditions and Physical Demands Front facing role with frequent travel expectations Evening and weekend work required for events and travel Ability to stand for extended periods and manage event logistics The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all-inclusive.
