Company Overview Family & Children's Aid (FCA) is a dedicated child-focused 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization committed to providing high-quality, innovative mental health care for children and their families. With a rich history spanning over 200 years, FCA believes that seeking help is a sign of strength and strives to make excellent mental health services accessible to all communities. Our Therapeutic Group Home, provides long-term stays for up to 6 females ages 14 to 21, who are currently in the custody of CT's Department of Children and Families. Many clients have experienced past trauma, such as abuse and/or neglect and have high acuity level behavioral needs. Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Assistant Program Director to join our team and support the delivery of exceptional mental health and behavioral care. In this vital leadership role, you will assist in managing operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Your expertise will help foster a positive environment for both residents and staff, promoting growth, safety, and effective treatment outcomes. The Assistant Program Director will be joining a multi-disciplinary team made up of a Program Director, Clinician, Psychiatrist, Nurse, and milieu staff to provide the highest quality services possible. The Program Coordinator is an integral member of the Clinical Team, responsible for the oversight of the Level II therapeutic group home by providing scheduling and direct supervision to staff and managing all aspects of care for the residents of the home while meeting policy requirements and ensuring the implementation of treatments plans and services. Additional responsibilities include; planning and implementing day-to-day activities, teaching pertinent life skills necessary for a successful transition to independent living, modeling healthy interpersonal relationships, setting appropriate boundaries and limits, as well as de-escalating volatile situations and/or Clients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Oversee and coordinate the daily care of residents
  • Provide ongoing and hands-on supervision to Treatment Support Staff
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support, call-outs or programmatic inquiries
  • Assist in the implementation of resident treatment plans
  • De-escalate volatile situations and/or resident behaviors
  • Adhere to program-specific and agency-wide policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Handle payroll tasks
  • Maintain group home accreditation standards Qualifications and Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience and desire to work with the adolescent population highly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience required.
  • Valid CT Driver's License with clean driving record required
  • DCF Medication Administration Certification strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Must be punctual, flexible, dependable and reliable
Full-time Benefits Include:
