Job Description

Assistant/Associate Director, Regional and Volunteer Engagement The Associate/Assistant Director of Regional &Volunteer Engagement plays a central role in building and sustaining a vibrant, connected alumni community. This individual managesrelationships with regional networks, volunteer leaders, and campus partners — serving as the primary point of contact for alumni who givetheir time and expertise to advance the institution's mission. A key focus of this role is cultivating volunteers who support cross-campuscollaboration including the Career and Life Design Center, the Elting Entrepreneurship Center, and Admissions. We are prepared tohire at either level depending on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. Responsibilities and expectations will becalibrated accordingly. Responsibilities Regional Engagement Planand execute regional and off-campus alumni events in partnership with a focus on Advancement's strategic goals Support regionalnetworks, maintaining strong relationships with volunteer leaders in key geographies Serve as primary liaison to regionalvolunteers for logistics, communications, and event support Volunteer Management Manage defined volunteer cohorts including, but not limited to, regional leaders, admissions ambassadors, career connectors, andprogram-specific volunteers Lead and maintain the full volunteer lifecycle: recruit, train, engage, and recognize Supportonboarding, training, and recognition programs for all volunteer leaders Develop and maintain volunteer toolkits, resources, andbest practices documentation Campus Partnership Program Coordinate and manage alumnivolunteers supporting the Career and Life Design Center, including career panels, mentorship programs, networking events, and employerengagement Support the recruitment and stewardship of alumni volunteers for Elting Entrepreneurship Center initiatives Lead engagement strategy and programming for the Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) program, fostering community and connection amongrecent alumni Coordinate alumni participation in admissions and student-facing programs as assigned Serve as the alumnirelations liaison to these campus partners, ensuring alignment between volunteer efforts and institutional priorities Data & Reporting Track volunteer activity and off-campus engagement metrics in the CRM Maintain accurate records of event outcomes, volunteer engagement, and program participation Perform other relatedduties as assigned and based on departmental need.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's Degree 1-3 years of experience 5-7 years of relevant work experience or specialized training thatcan be used in lieu of education requirement Experience in alumni engagement, volunteer management, event planning, or arelated field Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders Strong organizationalskills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communicationskills Proficiency with CRM platforms and standard productivity tools Ability to work nights and weekends onoccasion Relationship Management — builds trust and long-term engagement with diverse alumni volunteers ProjectManagement — plans, coordinates, and delivers programs on time and within scope Communication — writes and speaks clearly forvaried audiences Adaptability — thrives in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities Collaboration — workseffectively across teams and with external partners
Preferred:
3-5 years of experience Experienceworking with volunteer leaders or boards in a nonprofit or higher education setting Familiarity with alumni engagement bestpractices Experience planning and executing in-person and virtual events Comfort working across functional teams andwith institutional leadership About Us Trinity is a highly selective, independent, nonsectarian liberalarts institution located in the capital city of Hartford, Connecticut.
