Shift 1, Days Job Summary The Graduate Medical Education Manager is responsible for the administration of day-to-day operations of the Family Medicine residency program ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education and American Board of Family Medicine. The Graduate Medical Education Manager acts as the central coordinator between faculty, attending physicians, residents, medical students, the residency program clinical practice, other institutional departments, and regulatory authorities.
Position Duties and Responsibilities Time Allocation:
Administrative tasks (80%), Staff training and supervision (20%) Create and update faculty, resident and nurse practitioner schedules Coordinate resident and faculty on call schedules with Chief Residents Resident recruitment
  • ERAS, Applicant screening, Interviews, Ranking process Faculty recruitment
  • Advertising, Applicant screening, Interviews Credentialing of residents at participating institutions
  • Yale 2 ,UConn, CCMC, Planned Parenthood, CHC, Other outside rotations as needed Maintain Program Letters of Agreement Resident and Faculty evaluation: MyEvaluations database, Report distribution Update and ensure accuracy of national electronic databases

Census, AAMC Frieda, ACGME Web
ADS, NRMP ACGME
Accreditation o Graduate Medical Education Committee Annual Program and Institutional Evaluations
  • WebADS updates, Program Letters of Agreement with participating institutions, Accreditation site visits ABFM
  • In-training examination, Resident and graduate certification Administrative documentation
  • Personnel files, Continuing education, Licensure requirement Budgetary management
  • Development, Monthly monitoring, Accounts payable Staff supervision, Resident onboarding, New Resident Orientation, Graduation and other residency program activities Work collaboratively with Practice Managers in areas of educational and clinical intersection Maintain Notary Public standing and provide notary services to the department Ensure resident and faculty compliance with institutional training requirements Regulatory compliance•Institutional, ACGME, ABFM, Connecticut State Department of Health, Joint Commission, OSHA , Labor laws Development, revision, and implementation of administrative policies and procedures Collaboration with health system management community, Monthly health system management meeting, Practice representative on health system committees Adheres to all Core Values (Compassion, Pursue Excellence, Cooperation and Collaboration, Upholds Honesty, and Supports Innovation).
