Who we are : The mission of the Schoolhouse Children's Museum is to inspire and engage children and families to explore, play, learn and discover through creative, interactive learning opportunities that integrate the arts, humanities and sciences in cultural and historical settings. Contract Educator - Outreach Program (Art of the Story) The Schoolhouse Children's Museum is seeking an independent contractor educator to deliver outreach programming for our Art of the Story program at partner sites throughout the community. About the role This is a program-specific contract position . The contractor will provide hands-on educational experiences for children at off-site locations using museum-developed curriculum and materials. Scope of services Deliver outreach education sessions at partner sites as scheduled by mutual agreement Collaborate with museum staff on curriculum alignment and program needs Prepare, transport, and reset outreach materials for each program Track program attendance and submit brief service reports Communicate proactively regarding scheduling, materials, or program needs Schedule & location Outreach sessions occur on varying dates and locations based on school requests Schedule is coordinated in advance and agreed upon mutually Contractor is responsible for their own transportation between sites Compensation $24 per hour as a contract rate, paid biweekly Contractor is responsible for all taxes and transportation costs Contractor requirements Independent contractor status (1099) Valid driver's license and personal automobile insurance Experience working with young children in educational or cultural settings Ability to travel to partner sites Background check required due to work with children This position is: A contract role , not a staff position Not eligible for employee benefits, paid time off, or holiday pay
