Responsible for leadership and coordination of initiatives related to providing a safe, disciplined learning environment. Oversee academic performance and reporting. Position Responsibilities Communication Assists in the internal and external communication and collaboration involved in attendance and discipline issues Assists in developing and coordinating resources to provide assistance to students Assists in contacting parents in carrying out attendance responsibilities Analyzes data and trends to assist in developing responsive prevention and intervention strategies Responds to all requests from various internal and external sources (e.g. teachers, school administrators, parents, outside agencies, etc.) for the purpose of investigating and assisting in resolving student attendance problems, boundary issues, discipline and expulsion processes. Provides staff development on student discipline procedures, attendance, policy and legal requirements Demonstrates and delivers positive communication and overall knowledge of the Academy Operations Oversees the attendance process in assisting students in resolving unsatisfactory attendance problems for the purpose of ensuring effective student education and compliance with all related regulations Researches and develops strategic programs and procedures for the purpose of achieving student attendance improvements and compliance with all relevant policies Assists in the discipline of students ensuring that the matters comply with the policies of the Academy Responsible for maintaining and updating the necessary records of disciplinary action Files a variety of documents (e.g. attendance reports, outside agency requests, etc.) for the purpose of assisting students and complying with mandated requirements Maintains student records (e.g. attendance reports, parent inquires, complaint reports, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring program effectiveness complying with mandated requirements Knowledge, Skills and Ability Bachelor s degree in Education or related field Thorough knowledge of and ability to research Federal, State, and District laws, policies, procedures, and best practices regarding student discipline MS Office experience Ability to supervise and work effectively with departmental personnel Good decision-making and problem solving skills Ability to develop implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Excellent organizational and leadership skills Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects Preferred Skills Master s degree in Education or related field Teaching experience Bilingual Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs. Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time. Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc. Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required #LI-JB1
