Job Description

Job Summary The Assistant Director of Admissions Events & Engagement maintains responsibility for activities related to admissions events and the campus visit experience. The person in this position will support events in Undergraduate Admission, Graduate and Professional Studies Admission, and the College of Law departments. They will perform duties that assure a quality campus event experience, develop and align the campus event experience with the University brand and enrollment goals including training and supervision of student ambassadors. This position reports to the Associate Director of Admission Events and Engagement. Supervisory Responsibilities Student Ambassadors, shared responsibility with Associate Director Duties/Responsibilities Design, plan, implement and manage customized events, considering past experiences and data-driven reports Consult with the Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions in planning event logistics and execution, working primarily with the leadership team and with campus partners involved in event setup and event participation Create event setup memos, meet with facilities, catering, security and custodians as well as Information Technology, as necessary Work closely with the Enrollment Marketing on both in-person and virtual events in the CRM system Supports in River House event management inclusive of approval, SA scheduling, floor plans, facility upkeep, AV and more. Ensure selection and booking of appropriate spaces and resources for each event and order other equipment as needed Coordinate staff roles and train all student workers/ambassadors and/or volunteers Conduct event meetings and orchestrate physical set-ups and breakdowns of each event Participate in event evaluations and gather feedback from various departments, campus partners and staff to make improvements to future events Work with the Associate Director of Admissions Events and Engagement on event support, which includes scheduling campus tours and tour guides. Assists at off-campus recruitment events, if required Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Dedicated to the mission of Jacksonville University regarding the growth of its student population. Education, Certificates, Licenses, and Experience Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree and admissions related work and/or related experience in a college environment are highly desirable. Commitment to customer service, both internal and external to the department. Experience using a CRM to develop and implement events, multi-level communication campaigns and reports. SLATE experience preferred. Understanding of college admissions Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, and the general public. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents and community members Demonstrated time management experience Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced work environment. Sensitivity toward people of diverse social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Willing to work as part of a team and understand the importance of teamwork
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach. Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
