Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Teacher Workshop Program Manage all aspects of the Teacher Workshop (TWS) Program. Recruitment Recruit eligible participants from across the state into the program. Maintain current mailing lists. Maintain communication with current and establish new contacts with district certification specialists. Maintain and disseminate Teacher Workshop promotional materials, including brochures, slicks, and the website. Publish Teacher Workshop newsletter quarterly. Travel to and/or present at Florida-based events to promote the program. Staffing Staff all Teacher Workshop courses, ensuring credentials and hours available for each FT and PT faculty. Ensure all faculty teaching TWS courses meet the standards and criteria to teach the course as per the College's and SOE's guidelines. Generate and receive returned contracts for all faculty teaching TWS courses. Faculty and Student Support Provide support to Teacher Workshop faculty and students in the online program via phone and email. Prepare and deliver or provide for training to new and existing Teacher Workshop staff, student workers, and faculty hires; oversee their performance; evaluate Teacher Workshop staff and student worker performance; and provide constructive feedback and coaching to guide Teacher Workshop faculty, staff, and student worker future performance. Proactively seek information regarding current and new legislation regarding teacher certification and credentialing requirements; interpret and disseminate this as related to course offerings to relevant parties. Advise students enrolling in Teacher Workshop courses. Course Scheduling and Oversight Schedule all Teacher Workshop courses, in collaboration with the Dean of the School of Education. Monitor Teacher Workshop course enrollments. Verify that all Teacher Workshop courses are fully developed, content is current, and courses comply with FLDOE and FSC required criteria. Ensure all Teacher Workshop courses are aligned with the same-named courses in the SOE undergraduate programs. Recordkeeping, Collaboration, and Supervision Maintain complete and comprehensive records of Teacher Workshop courses offered, enrollments, revenue, faculty credentials, and students' patterns of enrollment and provide regular reports to the Dean. Collaborate with the Office of the Registrar regarding course enrollments and enrollment schedules, Office of Information Technology for online course support, FSC Business Office, Office of Admissions, and others in support of the Teacher Workshop program. Supervise Administrative Assistant and student workers who support the Teacher Workshop Program. Florida Department of Education Program Approval Process Support the School of Education in all aspects of the Florida Department of Education program approval (accreditation) process and manage daily office operations for program accreditation Data Collection and Management Assist with the collection, collation, maintenance, and reporting of supportive documentation required for maintaining compliance with State requirements for all FLDOE state-approved programs within the School of Education. Maintain and organize print and digital records, correspondence, and other information received from the Florida Department of Education. Follow-up with FLDOE state-approved program graduates and maintain a database of records to verify their locations and years of employment as teachers and school leaders. Establish and maintain timelines for data collection and reporting in the School of Education in coordination with accreditation requirements. Collect, review, and store syllabi for all programs to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and FSC regulations and practices. Collect and maintain data regarding faculty credentials as related to FLDOE and SACSCOC requirements. Reporting of FL DOE -Related Data Collect, and compile report data for programs, departments, the School, College, and the Florida Department of Education. Maintain data for and submit the Title II report to the FLDOE. Participate in the development and submission of the annual IPEP report for each state approved undergraduate and graduate program offered through the School of Education. Schedule meetings for and serve on the committees whose work relates to FLDOE program approval, including the School of Education IPEP Team, Data Analysis Team, Advisory Council, Teacher Education Council, and the FLDOE Curriculum Task Force, and which may involve faculty and staff from across multiple programs/departments. Draft agendas, prepare materials for meetings, and take and transcribe meeting minutes. About our ideal candidateEDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree required, Master's in Education degree preferred. Knowledge of FL DOE teacher certification requirements. Excellent professional interpersonal and communication skills to be used between and among individuals. internal and external to the College to facilitate tasks and address student learning needs. Emotional maturity; ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Documented experience and ability to make decisions independently and swiftly and act on these to facilitate smooth operation of day-to-day workflow. Documented experience and ability to organize and allocate available resources and effectively communicate processes and timelines to faculty, staff, supervisors, and student workers. Knowledge of and experience in the general operations and organization of a college setting. Experience working with FLDOE teacher certification and program approval process preferred. Experience with Canvas or other similar LMS preferred. Ability to prioritize tasks and to work independently as well as with a team. Strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills. Documented record of advanced organizational skills to manage workflow in a fast-paced, student-centered environment. Proficiency with advanced features of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, the College LMS, and the College information system. Intermediate understanding of database structures, elements, and processes to design reports, extract data from multiple and diverse sources, and to merge the data for later analyses. Ability and experience to anticipate and prepare reports for data-driven decision-making.PHYSICAL DEMANDS A
major part of the job is performed while sitting, although the work does require regular standing and walking; talking and hearing, both in person and by telephone; use of hands repetitively to handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Extensive use of computer systems including keyboard and monitors. Near visual acuity necessary for reading computer screens and reading printed materials. Ability to listen carefully to others while on the phone or in person. Requires long hours of stationary work at a computer.WORKING CONDITIONS
