Assistant Dean for Operations Florida State University - 4.3 Tallahassee, FL Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Research Data collection Full Job Description Department Department of Student Support and Transitions Responsibilities Develops and updates policies and procedures for assigned programs. Oversees coordination of activities within the main DSST front office, technology, student interns throughout all DSST programs in conjunction with the appropriate associated Assistant Dean. Coordinates marketing and social media for the department. Leads departmental assessment projects including COOP, Institutional Effectiveness Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans. Serves as backup in all instances where the Senior Associate Dean is unavailable. Develops and maintains a comprehensive database used in obtaining additional funding sources. Researches and/or writes grants and secures/administers program funding from local, state, and federal sources. Serves on all student of concern committees in order to provide backup and consistency when the Senior Associate Dean is unavailable. In conjunction with the Senior Associate Dean coordinates and implements DSST training for all faculty and staff on working with students of concern. Works with DSA Marketing to coordinate all aspects of marketing and promotion for the department including websites, brochures, faculty/staff emergency folders, and other educational and resource materials. In conjunction with the Senior Associate Dean provides support to families of students who have been hospitalized or are experiencing the loss of a student enrolled at the University. Work with Senior Associate Dean to coordinate DSST coverage of campus crisis and needed support systems for students, families, and the University. In conjunction with the Senior Associate Dean coordinate training and scheduling for the Dean on Duty program. Dean on Duty responsibilities on a rotational basis. Each Assistant and Associate Dean within DSST is required to serve as the "Dean on Duty". During this time, the employee is responsible for managing all after hour crisis management situations, and triage emergency situations requiring a response from student affairs. These responses include acting independently and representing student affairs and, in some cases, the entire University during very sensitive crisis situations. Assists with other student related programs and services as assigned by the Dean or Senior Associate Dean. Chairs and/or serves on various divisional committees as assigned. Oversees the Student Support & Transitions Department assessment in the areas of Case Management, Victim Advocate Program, Withdrawal Services, Office of Accessibility Services, Investigations, and the Basic Needs Hub. Analyzes data collected by the departmental resources to understand student trends and needs. Data is utilized for education and awareness across the division and university regarding student behavior, drug and alcohol use, retention concerns, patterns of victimization, and students of concern. Qualifications Master's degree and two years of experience, or higher.
