Job Description

Job Summary The Dean, Health Sciences provides academic and administrative leadership for the division. This role oversees faculty and staff, manages curriculum and program quality, and ensures compliance with academic policies and institutional standards. Key responsibilities include coordinating divisional operations, leading assessment and planning processes, programmatic accreditation and managing budgets. The Dean represents the division internally and externally, supports strategic initiatives, and contributes to institutional effectiveness. As a member of the President's Cabinet, the Dean plays an active role in advancing the College's mission and strategic plan. Supervisor Responsibilities Manage a team of faculty and staff, which includes: Overseeing the areas of Health Sciences division, including Short-term Programs. Overseeing daily operations and guiding team members to ensure productivity and efficiency through regular meetings and constructive feedback. Ensuring compliance with College policies, procedures, and regulation. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Integrity, accountability, and confidentiality. Data analysis, technological proficiency, and adaptability. Clear communication. Collaborative leadership and inclusive practices. Empathetic support for students and staff. Project management and implementation. Strategic thinking to anticipate future needs and guide long-term planning. Required Qualifications Master's degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in post-secondary education, with experience in administration, academic support or institutional effectiveness. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in field related to discipline in higher education. Progressive leadership experience in post-secondary education institution. Physical Demands Light physical activity required; must be able to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in various formats. Primarily daytime hours with some evening and weekends to support College events and initiatives.
