Job Description

Description :
The Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) Dean of Instruction reports to the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. Responsibilities include developing short- and long-range instructional plans; recruiting, supervising, and evaluating STEM full- and part-time faculty and department staff; ensuring compliance with ICCB and accreditation criterion; leading new academic program development and monitoring program enrollment; providing faculty professional development activities; administering department budgets; developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum and instructional program planning. Home campus assignment is Wabash Valley College with travel being required on a regular basis to the other campuses in the District for meetings and for faculty supervision.
Qualifications :
Master's degree from an accredited university required. Doctorate preferred. Successful record of quality college teaching experience, and an understanding and acceptance of the philosophy of the comprehensive community college with successful experience and/or potential for professional growth in academic administration in teaching; curriculum and instructional services; faculty development; recruitment, supervision, and evaluation of faculty and staff; communication skills; technology skills (especially with MS Office programs) and effective working relationships with colleagues.
Wages/Benefits :
Minimum starting salary of $85,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include, but are not limited to: medical, dental, and life insurance; paid sick leave, vacation, and personal days; and participation in State Universities Retirement System.
