Position Details:

Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Lead Victim Advocate and Student Support Specialist is charged with identifying and addressing student needs by providing services to aid students who have experienced violence, including but not limited to sexual violence, relationship violence, harassment, and stalking. Indiana State University's Lead Victim Advocate is a confidential resource that oversees the continuum of care for students. They have on-call responsibilities and manage the volunteer victim advocates and the on-call rotation. They create and collaborate sexual and gender violence prevention programming, including bystander intervention. They will work within other areas of student support to provide outreach to students, including communications and meetings, to support retention and persistence to graduation. They will work to identify student needs in consultation with other departments and make referrals as appropriate. They will function as part of the Dean of Students team, supporting various programs and initiatives when needed.

Required Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, human services, education, criminology, sociology, psychology, or other closely related field.
