Amanda's Center is a domestic and interpersonal violence intake center. The center acts as a safe place as well as a central information point for victims, providing information on services available within the community. Applicants for this position are subject to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and call back duty.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Intake Specialist will be the initial point of contact for victims who present to Amanda's Center. The Intake Specialist will assist victims in filing for EPOs and IPOs, collect photographic evidence of victim injuries, coordinate language services, provide victims with referrals and information on services available in the community, and maintain statistical information for reporting. The Intake Specialist will conduct an intake interview to assess the needs of the victim and will follow the victim's progress throughout the process to ensure that they and their children receive necessary services available through Amanda's Center. The Intake Specialist will assist the victim with filing for an Emergency Protective Order by explaining the process and assisting the petitioner with the initial petition. The Intake Specialist will follow-up with every petitioner that files prior to their first court appearance and at regularly scheduled intervals to offer additional services and provide emotional support. The Intake Specialist will assess the victim's needs and gather information regarding victims seeking services that are unavailable and will attempt to generate an appropriate law enforcement and victim-centered response.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and shall not have been convicted of a felony offense. Have not been terminated or forced to resign within the twelve months preceding the submission of the application. A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice; Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or other human services field is preferred. Four (4) years of experience in a human service field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered in the absence of a Bachelor's Degree. Have been a law abiding citizen and maintained a law-abiding lifestyle. Must be dependable, organized, and detail-oriented. Must be compassionate and be able to express empathy with diverse populations.
