$80,000 to $90,000 a year based on experience Job Summary The Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for advising prospective students throughout the admissions process and helping them make informed decisions about their educational goals. This position conducts applicant interviews, explains program offerings and enrollment requirements, assists students with the admissions process, and works closely with other departments to support a successful transition into school. The ideal candidate is professional, ethical, organized, customer-service oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct telephone interviews with prospective students and schedule campus visits. Conduct personal interviews to qualify candidates and discuss program features, benefits, and career opportunities. Provide prospective students with accurate information regarding programs, admissions requirements, tuition, financial aid, graduation, and placement. Assist students throughout the admissions process and help prepare them for their first available class. Address prospective students' questions and concerns and provide excellent customer service. Review applications, enrollment agreements, prior education, test scores, transferable coursework, and other documentation to ensure admissions requirements are met. Assist students with completing applications and obtaining required documentation. Explain tuition financing options and basic program eligibility requirements. Refer students to the Financial Aid department when appropriate. Ensure prospective students have the opportunity to meet with a Financial Aid Associate and tour the school before signing an enrollment agreement. Maintain current knowledge of the institution's programs and course offerings in order to help students select programs aligned with their needs and goals. Communicate with other departments regarding individual student needs. For high school outreach activities, develop relationships with educators and school personnel and coordinate outreach presentations. Provide required student disclosures and information regarding program offerings and enrollment. Solicit referrals and personally developed referrals (PDRs) from prospective students. Maintain accurate administrative records and complete assigned tasks on time. Follow up promptly with prospective students throughout the admissions process. Participate as a team member and contribute to departmental goals. Participate in approximately 10-15 hours per month of documented peer reviews through interviews and phone observations, as directed by the Director of Admissions. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required Higher Education experience required Admissions or relevant experience required Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills. Ability to build professional relationships with prospective students, educators, and coworkers. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team. Ability to use a personal computer and standard office equipment. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment that may be stressful at times. Commitment to ethical, accurate, and truthful communication with prospective students.
