JOB SUMMARY
The math counts sponsor is the representative of the principal to ensure that students are prepared for competition and represent the school in a positive manner. The sponsor will work to establish team/teams and prepare practice competitions that will enhance math skills commensurate with other math teams.

School Principal
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated management, leadership and human relations skills
Ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions
Proven ability to carry an assignment to its completion
Demonstrated success in accomplishing tasks akin to the duties and responsibilities listed below
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Calvert County Public Schools may find appropriate and acceptable
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To advertise through the Math department encouraging membership.
Determine primary team and alternate teams using appropriate assessment tools.
Hold regularly scheduled review sessions in preparation for competition.
Complete appropriate registration and submit payment by due date.
Communicate with students and parents the expectations for those participating in this activity.
Provide school and families with a calendar of events
Attend any regional or state competitions.

Performs related work as required or assigned by the Principal and/or Athletic Director

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience applied to the current year Extra Pay for Extra Duty Longevity Pay Schedule.

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy on evaluation as established by the Calvert County Public Schools.

This position remains open until it is filled. Interviews may begin as early as September 23, 2025. References must be directly related to work experience and must include immediate supervisor. State law requires that anyone hired after October 1, 1986, who will have contact with school children, must be fingerprinted and submit to a criminal background investigation. Federal law requires that a new employee must complete the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) in person before beginning employment. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a drug screen. Current employees of the Calvert County Public Schools are exempt from these requirements.
