An Alumni Relations Manager manages and maintains communication, interest, and financial support from graduates and alumni of a college or university. Creates and broadens alumni programs and plans events like alumni reunions or homecomings.
The Annual Fund & Donor Engagement Coordinator at VOA Michigan is responsible for growing annual philanthropic support by building strong donor relationships, managing an assigned donor portfolio, coordinating fundraising campaigns, and increasing donor retention, recurring giving, and gift size.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and execute annual giving strategies, appeals, and donor engagement campaigns. Cultivate, solicit, renew, and steward donors through personalized communication and relationship management. Manage the donor pipeline and identify annual donors with potential for major, planned, leadership, or campaign gifts. Coordinate fundraising communications, including direct mail, email, digital campaigns, newsletters, and impact stories. Maintain accurate donor records and interactions in the CRM. Track fundraising performance, donor retention, recurring giving, upgrades, and pipeline activity. Support donor events, tours, meetings, recognition, and other engagement opportunities. Collaborate with Development & Communications, program leaders, Finance, and organizational leadership. Analyze results and recommend improvements to fundraising strategies and processes.
Qualifications:
The position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least three years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, sales, account management, community engagement, or a related relationship-management field. CRM experience and strong communication, organization, relationship-building, and follow-through skills are important. Preferred experience includes annual fund management, nonprofit work, donor segmentation, recurring giving, lapsed-donor reactivation, donor upgrades, fundraising campaigns, stewardship events, and moves-management/pipeline practices.
