This role qualifies, cultivates, and solicits gifts from an assigned portfolio of major donor prospects, while also ensuring existing donors receive timely acknowledgment, consistent personal contact, and clear reporting on the impact of their giving. The Stewardship Officer builds trust with donors at every stage, from first contact through solicitation and ongoing stewardship, helping Bethany's donor base grow in both size and generosity. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage a portfolio of major donor prospects with capacity to give $10,000 or more per year, including research, cultivation strategy, and solicitation. Conduct regular donor contact activity (calls, visits, correspondence) to cultivate new relationships and deepen existing ones. Ensure timely, personalized gift acknowledgment and accurate donor records in coordination with Finance and Advancement Services. Provide ongoing stewardship to existing donors, including impact reporting and donor communications, to support retention and upgraded giving. Support donor cultivation and stewardship events, representing Bethany professionally with donors on-site and off-site. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in philanthropy, business, communications, or a related field preferred. At least three years of demonstrated, successful experience in major gift fundraising, donor relations, or a related field such as sales. Demonstrated success soliciting and closing individual gifts of $10,000 or more. Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software. A commitment to Bethany Global's mission and strong alignment with its statement of faith and guiding values. Work Conditions Full-time, 40 hours/week. Primarily office-based with regular computer, phone, and CRM use. Travel expected approximately 25-30% of time for donor visits, cultivation meetings, and events, including some evenings and weekends.
