The CDEO provides visionary, integrated leadership for the Alumni Foundation's engagement, strategic communications and fundraising enterprises across colleges, units and constituent groups. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, this leader unites Engagement, Development and Strategic Communications into a single, highly coordinated engine — building meaningful relationships, strengthening affinity and pride and advancing philanthropic outcomes. As a member of the Leadership Team, the CDEO will lead comprehensive fundraising campaigns with clear performance metrics, manage and support the Vice Presidents of Engagement and of Strategic Communications and maintain a small personal portfolio focused on principal-level major gifts in support of MSU's top priorities. The ideal candidate brings ten or more years of progressive fundraising experience, a proven record of securing major gift commitments and a demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and manage a team of skilled multidisciplinary professionals. They bring comprehensive campaign experience, preferably in higher education, excellent communication skills and the strategic vision to make alumni and donor engagement the foundation of lifelong philanthropy. A baccalaureate degree and experience, or a master's degree, is required. About the Montana State University Alumni Foundation The Montana State University Alumni Foundation exists to serve one mission, to "cultivate lifelong relationships and secure private support to advance Montana State University." Growing the endowment is the best way to ensure that Montana State University remains healthy, strong, competitive and able to fulfill its land-grant mission into the future.
