We are currently seeking a Principal who has a passion for providing the highest quality care in an institutional, secure setting. The Principal oversees the facility's educational programs to provide professional instructional services and the continual delivery of quality education programs, in accordance with contract requirements, and company goals and objectives. Design, implement and/or evaluate curriculum and programs of study that meet the needs, interests and abilities of the inmates/students, maintaining current standards for all educational programs. Supervise staff of the education department in the performance of their duties and evaluates as prescribed by the facility and company policy. Implement policies and procedures and oversee staff compliance with standards to meet or exceed facility goals and objectives. Establish and enforce standards of a safe classroom environment and behavior that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the interests of the inmates/students. Monitor classroom activities, adherence to lesson plans, student attendance, and evaluates the instructional effectiveness of the education program.
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership or Education Administration is required. Three years of experience in a full-time professional education position, including one year of education administration or supervisory work experience in an educational setting, is required. Additional qualifying graduate course work may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis up to two years. There is no substitution of the required year of education supervisory experience. Must possess or be eligible for certification, licensure or other credentials if required by contract and/or state of employment. Continued employment in this position will be contingent upon obtaining and/or maintaining required partner agency credentials. Experience in Microsoft Office or other similar software applications is required. A valid driver's license is required.
