Student - Athletics Assistant Salem Academy and College - Winston Salem, NC 27101 Apply Overview Education Level None Travel Percentage None Category Other Apply Description Position Summary The Athletics student employment position is a role that will assist the athletic department in accomplishing functions necessary for athletic excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties may include: office work, game management, concessions, statistics, scoreboard, assisting the athletic trainer, photography, videography, game day operations, making posters and graphics. Assignments may be placed by the director of athletics, the assistant director of athletics, the athletic trainer, the sports information director, and the coaches. There is office work as well as evening work to support the athletic home events. The work to be performed is quite diverse in nature. Attendance to assigned shifts is required. Two unexcused absences will result in the removal of employment. If a student worker will be absent from a shift, they must notify the director of athletics before the shift. Notification after the assigned shift will count as an unexcused absence. The student worker may be exposed to confidential information. This information cannot be discussed or made available to anyone without the proper approval of the director of athletics. Sharing confidential information with any unauthorized person is ground for immediate dismissal. Communication between the student worker and the athletics department staff is critical to job performance. If a problem or confusion arises, it is expected that all parties involved will work to resolve the issue. Qualifications Required Qualifications Dependable Honest Organized Enthusiastic about Salem College Athletics Evening and Weekend hours available Physical Functions While performing the responsibilities of the Athletics Assistant , the employee is required to sit for varying lengths of time; bend, reach, lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds; occasionally stand, walk, and kneel and regularly ascend/descend stairs; use hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard; perform extended periods of work at a computer workstation, view a computer monitor; perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and receive detailed information through oral communication; express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word; and work in an office setting.
