Bismarck State College is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Registration Assistant to join the Academic Records team. This position plays an important role in helping students, faculty, staff, and families navigate registration and academic records processes while ensuring student information is accurate, secure, and handled with care. What You'll Do Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service regarding registration and academic records to students, parents, faculty, and staff. Coordinate registration activities for current, Early Entry, Farm and Ranch Management Education, Health Sciences, and non-degree-seeking students. Assist students with Campus Connection, including registration, class changes, withdrawals, overrides, and demographic updates. Review and process class override requests, ensuring compliance with prerequisites, institutional policies, academic program requirements, and registration deadlines. Process student discontinuations and monitor enrollment activity to maintain accurate student records and reporting information. Process official transcript requests and enrollment verifications, including identity verification and fraud detection. Serve as the primary point of contact for Parchment transcript services and electronic transcript requests. Respond to inquiries in person, by phone, and in writing, including supporting the Academic Records general email account. Maintain Academic Records webpage content and develop clear, effective business processes for assigned responsibilities. Counsel students, faculty, advisors, and staff regarding registration procedures, academic records, and applicable regulations. Support Commencement activities and contribute ideas that improve departmental processes and services. Maintain strict confidentiality of student records in accordance with FERPA and college policies. Why Join Us? MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Appropriate associate degree or two years of directly related work experience. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and Access), email and electronic calendar and excellent keyboarding skills. Ability to adapt in a changing environment. Proven excellent interpersonal skills (ability to work well with a variety of people). Strong written communication skills, organizational skills and attention to details and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to multi-task and manage many different activities. Disciplined and able to maintain confidentiality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a comparable position in a higher education setting. Experience in and understanding of PeopleSoft software. Experience with using electronic imaging systems.
BENEFITS COMPENSATION
$36,919-$46,149 based on education and directly related experience; Nonexempt 100% employer-paid family health insurance, life insurance, retirement, employee tuition waiver, spouse/dependent tuition discount.
