We're looking for a STEM Educator to help us deliver fun and engaging STEM learning experiences across North Dakota. Whether it's leading a workshop at the science center, developing hands-on curriculum, or facilitating a carnival-style learning day at a host school, you'll make a lasting impact by inspiring curiosity and building connections through science. WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE STEM

Education & Outreach - approximately 60% of time You'll lead engaging, age-appropriate programming for students of all ages, with a primary focus on preK-12 (but hello Adult Programming!). You'll present hands-on workshops onsite at the science center and offsite across the state through our North Dakota's Gateway to Science on the Go program. Programs include afterschool clubs, summer camps, field trips, and classroom workshops. Your goal is to connect students' curiosity with STEM concepts—and make learning relevant, memorable, and FUN. Program Development & Prep - approximately 20% of time You'll help develop and adapt STEM activities and resources in collaboration with the Education Director and fellow educators. This includes researching and testing new ideas, organizing materials, prepping classrooms, and ensuring everything runs smoothly before, during, and after programs. Much of our educational programming is supported by grants, so you'll also help ensure that materials and experiences align with program goals, outcomes, and reporting needs. Collaboration & Mentoring - approximately 20% of time You'll work as part of a collaborative education team to develop curriculum, facilitate workshops and programming, and plan and host community events. You'll also help train and support camp instructors, event facilitators, and volunteers—serving as a mentor and role model in creating a welcoming, inclusive, and high-energy learning environment.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO

Has a bachelor's degree in Education or related field. Has 2+ years of teaching experience, which can include substitute teaching, camps, or similar learning environments. Has demonstrated effective group and classroom management skills. Has strong attention to detail and can handle multiple demands efficiently. Is eager to learn, experiment, and grow as part of a team. Is dependable, organized, and adaptable in a dynamic work setting. Has excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

MORE DETAILS YOU'LL WANT TO KNOW

This is a full-time position, with a starting salary of $48,000 DOE. The role reports to the Onsite and Offsite Education Directors and includes regular travel—approximately 25% of the time—to deliver programming across the state. Evening and weekend hours are occasionally required based on the programming schedule, which is shared by all Educators. A valid driver's license is required, and the position involves lifting up to 30 pounds and assisting with setup and teardown of materials at a variety of locations. While the start date is flexible, we're hoping to welcome our new team member as soon as possible after hiring.
