Job Description

Nature of Work The Upward Bound Project Director is responsible for the administration of the Chadron State College Upward Bound Program in accordance with the federal guidelines and regulations determined by the U.S. Department of Education. The Project Director is responsible for developing a comprehensive program of support that engages ninth through twelfth grade students in academic instruction and tutoring, advising, and college prep activities. The Project Director serves as the program's grant and budget administrator and therefore, just ensure full compliance with federal and college regulations.
Examples of Work Performed Essential Duties:
1. Direct, plan, implement, and evaluate all Upward Bound program activities a. Establish UB program and component goals and objectives, and guide efforts of all staff in achieving goals and objectives b. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate UB program staff c. Develop, implement, monitor, and revise budget d. Establish and maintain appropriate record keeping and accounting systems in accordance with Chadron State College and U.S. Department of Education guidelines e. Enhance relationship with target high schools to aid in recruiting and retention of eligible students f. Conduct bi-weekly staff meetings, quarterly student meetings, and plan and coordinate staff orientation and training sessions g. Prepare written reports for state and federal requirements and assist with the grant proposal for continued funding h. Act as content manager for assigned websites.

Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Master's degree in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, Counseling, Student Personnel, or related field Experience in administration of programs serving the educationally or economically disadvantaged Preferred Qualifications .
