2996438271-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Uncommon Schools seeks a High School Athletic Director to lead a mission-driven athletics program that supports student achievement and character development. The Director oversees all sports teams, hiring and coaching of staff, budgeting, scheduling, and safe event operations. This role ensures compliance with league and state regulations, manages facilities and equipment, and coordinates transportation and logistics. The Athletic Director builds strong relationships with students, families, and community partners while modeling Uncommon's high expectations, data-driven practice, and commitment to educational equity and college readiness. Responsibilities Lead vision and strategy for the high school athletics program aligned with Uncommon Schools' mission Oversee hiring, training, and evaluation of coaches and athletics staff Manage athletics budget, purchasing, and stewardship of facilities and equipment Ensure compliance with league, conference, and state athletic regulations and eligibility rules Develop and manage game, practice, and transportation schedules Supervise safe game-day and event operations, including risk management protocols Monitor student-athlete academic performance and eligibility in partnership with school leadership Engage and communicate regularly with families and community partners Use data to assess program quality and drive continuous improvement Promote a culture of equity, sportsmanship, and college-going expectations for all student-athletes Required Skills Athletic program management Budgeting and resource allocation Staff hiring and supervision League and regulatory compliance Student-athlete eligibility management Event and game operations Data tracking and reporting Safety and risk management Family and community engagement Scheduling and logistics
