Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Program Director to oversee our Madison Winter Rec Basketball program. As the Program Director, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the program, ensuring that all aspects of the program run smoothly. Your primary focus will be on guiding and supporting our volunteer coaches, and being responsible for the skill development and game experience of our participants.

Key Responsibilities:

Coach Support and Training:

Provide guidance and support to Volunteer coaches. Create practice plans that align with the weekly assigned skill focus. Explain and demonstrate the skills being taught effectively. Encourage and assist volunteer coaches in organizing and supervising the drills being demonstrated.

Skill Development:

Work closely with coaches to ensure that each week's assigned skill is emphasized during practice drills and games. Monitor the progress of players' skill development and provide feedback to coaches for improvement.

Game Management:

Oversee and manage the organization of scrimmage games and gameplay activities. Responsible for officiating games, ensuring fair play, and maintaining a positive atmosphere. Manage the game clock and ensure that games run smoothly and on schedule.

Communication:

Maintain open and transparent communication with voluntedr coaches Address any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.

Administrative Tasks:

Assist in registration and player placement. Assist in equipment management and ensure a safe playing environment.

Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience in basketball is required. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work effectively with volunteer coaches and youth participants. Knowledge of basketball rules and regulations.

Working Hours and program length:

This position is part-time and primarily involves weekend morning/early afternoon hours to coincide with program activities and events. This program will start in January run for 8 weekends.

The specific hours are:

Saturdays 7:30am-1:00pm. Sundays 8:30am-12:45pm.

Pay Scale:

$3,000 for the winter program. Pay can be adjusted if weekends are missed. How to
