Job Description

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the University Director of Housing and Residence Life, the Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life for Operations is a key member of the Housing and Residence Life leadership team responsible for the overall administration and coordination of housing operations for the Florham Campus. This position oversees all aspects of the housing assignment process, occupancy management, meal plan administration, housing applications, data management, reporting, and operational processes that support the residential experience. The Assistant Director serves as the primary functional lead for housing management systems and operational procedures while collaborating with campus partners to ensure efficient, student-centered service delivery. This position develops and implements housing policies and procedures, analyzes occupancy trends and data, and supports strategic planning related to enrollment and residential capacity. This is a 12-month, full-time professional position.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree required in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field. Two to four years of progressively responsible experience in Housing and Residence Life, Student Affairs, or a related administrative area. Demonstrated experience with housing management software StarRez and student information systems. Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting data, preparing reports, and utilizing data to support strategic decision-making. Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive student information. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and continuous process improvement. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required and participate in the professional staff on-call rotation. Live-on accommodations are available but are not required for this position.
