Department:
Office of the Registrar Position Summary The Office of the Registrar at SUNY Geneseo provides exceptional service to the college community with the highest standards of integrity, accuracy, efficiency, and security. We collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to provide comprehensive management of enrollment and academic records.
Our services include:
maintaining academic records within the student information system, processing transfer credit, creating the course schedule, conferring degrees and overseeing the graduation process, supporting the Degree Works audit software, ensuring State and Federal compliance, and adhering to SUNY regulations. The Assistant Registrar for Transfer Articulation plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of student academic records, thereby supporting student success and ensuring compliance with institutional and academic requirements. The position will be a key team member in the Office of the Registrar and will be responsible for a number of transfer-related functions, including: Evaluate and process transfer credit (including pre-college credit) for incoming and continuing students, ensuring that academic policies are applied consistently and efficiently Collaborate with deans, chairs, and program coordinators to manage curriculum-related processes and ensure accurate and efficient transfer credit evaluation Maintain and audit SUNY Geneseo's transfer databank to ensure accurate course equivalencies; research, analyze, and implement changes to databank setup Interact with students to answer questions and solve problems related to transfer articulation Work with colleagues to support implementation of EdVisorly software solutions for transfer support Provide subject matter expertise for all transfer-related questions, training colleagues as needed on transfer articulation processes Support day-to-day operations of the Registrar's Office, offering customer support and cross-training on critical functions Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree 3 years or more of experience in higher education Proficiency with Banner or another student information system (SIS) Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and ability to navigate and learn new software products A commitment to the campus values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, research, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate on complex issues and projects Ability to self-motivate and work independently and as part of a team Experience managing and prioritizing multiple assignments and projects Candidates for this position must be eligible to work in the United States. Percentage Of Time 50% Percentage Of Time 20% Percentage Of Time 20% Percentage Of Time 10% Job Duties/Responsibilities Oversee transfer credit articulation. Process all transfer credit (including college credit and
AP/IB/CLEP
) for all students, ensuring that all credits are entered and articulated correctly. Establish and maintain course equivalency data for 900+ partner institutions via the transfer articulation databank; add new partner institutions to the databank as necessary. Work closely with deans, department chairs, program coordinators, and the Office of Advising to ensure current and accurate articulations. Collaborate with colleagues in the Center for Global Engagement to manage study abroad and international student transfer credit. Provide student support for issues related to transfer articulation. Maintain documentation on transfer articulation processes and cross-train colleagues to ensure consistent processing. Provide functional leadership for EdVisorly. Lead functional implementation and testing for EddyDB and EddyAI transfer articulation software. Communicate with colleagues and EdVisorly contacts to improve functionality and troubleshoot errors. Train Geneseo team members on EdVisorly suite and create process documentation. Data maintenance and error report oversight. Review daily error/compliance reports and update Banner accordingly. Work with CIT to update and create error reports and troubleshoot issues. Research data issues and improve processes related to data maintenance. Run and analyze the repeat course process to ensure students' repeated courses are included/excluded appropriately. Inspect and maintain the course equivalency table for repeat course processing. Assist in evaluating missing/failed prerequisite reports and communicate with departments to resolve registration issues. Maintain broad knowledge of Registrar's Office processes to ensure coverage for essential functions (e.g., non-matriculated student registration, LOA processing, etc.). Provide customer support and troubleshooting for student/faculty issues, particularly during registration.
