Full-Time Description:
Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean, this position performs a full range of duties at the senior level for the Dean, Vice Dean, Senior Associate Dean, Associate Dean and Assistant Deans.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assists with AACSB-related reports and surveys (such as salary survey and business school questionnaire). Prepares and processes faculty appointments, reappointments, promotion, and tenure materials. Plans for external and internal communications for appropriate constituencies. Serves as a liaison to faculty, department chairs, the Provost's office, and other University-wide offices. Prepares and reconciles check requisitions for travel expenses for Zarb administrators (except Dean) and all Zarb Faculty. Processes purchase requests, check requisitions, one-time payments, and contracts. Monitors and logs the status of pending items. Assists with and coordinates activities for Zarb Study Abroad Program, various Exchange Programs, the Dean's Business Scholars Program, and other student-centered events. Assists in preparation and dissemination of reports and maintaining accurate files. Executes correspondence. Assists with interviewing, hiring and scheduling of student assistants. Assists with Banner searches and preparation of various data. Works with Degree Audit Reports, Banner System and Hofstra Web Systems. Assists in special projects, as needed. May perform other duties not specifically identified above, but which require the same degree of skill and which are normally included within the above job title.
Qualifications:
Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and well organized. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Excellent communication, writing, and editing. Strong computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Adobe Acrobat, and Ellucian Banner.
