Position Summary

Bowling Green City Schools is seeking a dependable and responsible Athletic Supervisor to oversee and support high school athletic events during the spring season. The Athletic Supervisor is responsible for helping ensure athletic contests are conducted in a safe, organized, and professional manner before, during, and after events.

The successful candidate will assist with facility preparation, game operations, crowd management, officials' needs, weather-related decisions, and emergency procedures as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are representative of the performance expectations for this position. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions.

Cover assigned Bowling Green High School athletic events during the spring season.

Set up and tear down athletic facilities before and after contests.

Prepare and monitor designated game operations areas.

Set up and manage cash and credit card gate operations.

Prepare and maintain the playing surface and other areas necessary for athletic contests.

Monitor and manage crowds before, during, and after athletic events.

Promote a safe, orderly, and positive environment for students, athletes, spectators, coaches, officials, and staff.

Assist with facilitating the needs of athletic officials before, during, and after contests.

Communicate with coaches, officials, school personnel, and event staff as needed to support successful event operations.

Assist with weather-related decisions and follow district procedures regarding potentially hazardous weather conditions.

Implement and manage emergency action plans when necessary.

Respond appropriately to emergency situations and immediately communicate concerns to appropriate school or district personnel.

Report unsafe conditions, facility concerns, or other issues to the appropriate administrator.

Follow Bowling Green City Schools Board policies, administrative procedures, athletic procedures, and safety protocols.

Maintain professionalism and serve as a positive representative of Bowling Green City Schools.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.

Valid Ohio Pupil Activity Permit, as required for the position.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends.

Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, staff, coaches, officials, and members of the public.

Ability to exercise sound judgment and respond appropriately in emergency or changing situations.

Working Conditions

This position requires work primarily during athletic events and may involve:

Evening and weekend work.

Working indoors and outdoors.

Exposure to varying weather conditions and seasonal temperatures.

Frequent interaction with students, athletes, coaches, officials, staff, and spectators.

Standing, walking, and moving throughout athletic facilities for extended periods.

Lifting, carrying, and moving equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responding to emergencies and implementing established emergency procedures.
