Job Description

I. University OverviewMalone strives to provide an education that produces graduates with a love of truth and a vibrant, mature faith. Our intent is that students attain the wisdom, knowledge, and skills necessary to serve, engage, and transform the communities in which they live and work. To this end, we provide the curricular and co-curricular context in which to pursue the following educational goals: Understand and critically engage those bodies of knowledge and cultural influences that have shaped the world; Understand the biblical, historical, and theological foundations of the Christian faith; Think critically and creatively and communicate effectively in multiple contexts; Attain expertise in at least one profession or academic discipline and lay the foundation for meaningful work or further studies at the graduate level; and explore the implications of the Christian faith for all areas of living, including intellectual, spiritual, and community pursuits.

Job SummaryThis position is responsible for investing in the Malone Residence Life program and in an assigned residence hall through community development, leadership development, interpersonal development, conflict resolution, and mentorship. Resident directors help to develop, coordinate, and maintain a residential program that strives to provide a safe, hospitable, Christ-infused residential space for students in order to support their holistic development. IV. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide oversight of their residence hall and the students who reside thereHelp plan and attend RA training sessions during Fall and Winter training, and support ongoing training of RAsSupport and enforce all University policies, rules and regulations governing residence hallsFacilitate all mandatory housing events, including check-in, check-out, housing selection, and RA selectionFacilitate weekly meetings with your RA staffReport maintenance needs to our Maintenance staffWork with your Resident Assistants to coordinate and implement residence hall eventsServe in the on-call duty rotation for responding to RA and resident concerns and emergenciesServe as a liaison for student conduct meetings as assigned by the Dean or Associate DeanMaintain an active presence in your residence hall Support crisis intervention procedures and contact campus personnel as neededOther duties as assigned V.
