Dean of Students & Middle School Science Teacher Position Type:
Full-Time, Contracted Working Hours:
8:00 AM - 3:45 PM (School Days)Reports To:
School Administrator Position Overview The Dean of Students & Middle School Science Teacher supports Minerva Area Christian School's mission by providing student leadership and classroom instruction. This position reports to the Administrator and is responsible for student culture, behavior, discipline, and parent communication for K-8, as well as delivering Christ-centered Science instruction to grades 5-8. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Instruction (Grades 5-8 Science): Deliver effective Science instruction and leadership for grades 5-8. Develop and implement lesson plans that integrate Biblical worldview principles and meet educational standards. Assess student progress, maintain records, and provide timely feedback. Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that reflects Christ's love. Student Life, Discipline & Parent Communication (K-8): Address student discipline issues with care and implement programs that uphold clear standards of conduct aligned with school values. Manage classroom behavior issues as they arise and support teachers with student management strategies. Maintain proactive, caring, and professional communication with parents regarding student conduct, academic progress, and behavior resolution. Participate in parent-teacher conferences as needed to support a strong home-school partnership. Collaborate with Student Services to ensure students who need behavioral or instructional support receive appropriate services.Spiritual & General Leadership:
Serve as a Christian role model in speech, conduct, and attitude for students and families. Provide teacher coverage or classroom breaks as needed to ensure a smooth daily schedule. Informed regarding student discipline trends, parent communications, and overall program needs. Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.Qualifications Education & Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (required); eligibility for Ohio teaching certification.Experience:
Classroom teaching experience, preferably in a Christian school, with proven ability in student behavior management and parent relations.Spiritual Requirements:
Strong commitment to Christian values, active participation in a local Bible-believing church, and willingness to sign and adhere to the school's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement.Skills:
Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, strong classroom management, ability to integrate Biblical principles into science topics, and proficiency with standard computer applications.Join Our Team:
