02/26/2026 Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Development Consultant Temporary Full-Time Exempt Umpqua Community College is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program Development Consultant to provide temporary, professional, non-instructional consulting services supporting the planning, development, and institutional readiness required to establish a new Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. This position is classified as a temporary, exempt consulting role and does not constitute a permanent faculty appointment, instructional assignment, or bargaining-unit position. The Consultant functions in an advisory and project-lead capacity, comparable in expertise to a Sonography Program Director, but without ongoing operational, supervisory, or instructional responsibility once the program is launched. The Consultant works under the general direction of the Dean of Health Professions (or designee) and collaborates with college leadership, faculty, facilities, finance, enrollment, and external partners to ensure program development aligns with

CAAHEP/JRC-DMS

accreditation standards, state regulatory expectations, and UCC policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications Credentialed Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS, RVT, or equivalent) with current or recent eligibility for U.S. credentialing Bachelor's degree minimum; Master's degree preferred Significant experience in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, education, including prior service as a Program Director, Associate Director, or senior faculty member Demonstrated expertise with

accreditation standards, policies, and processes Experience with sonography program development, expansion, or major programmatic change Preferred Qualifications Prior consulting experience in higher education or allied health program development Experience working with community colleges and associate degree health programs Knowledge of Oregon imaging practice requirements (or comparable state frameworks) Experience collaborating with facilities planners, architects, and ultrasound equipment vendors Core Competencies Accreditation and regulatory expertise (CAAHEP/JRC-DMS) Strategic planning and systems thinking Collaborative leadership and stakeholder engagement Project and timeline management Clear written and verbal communication
