DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID
Falcon Institute of Health and Science Bethlehem, Pennsylvania • Full-time, exempt • On-site About the role Falcon Institute of Health and Science is seeking a Director of Financial Aid to lead the institution's student funding operation and be responsible for its Title IV compliance posture. This is a senior institutional position. The Director reports directly to the President and holds independent authority over aid eligibility and disbursement decisions. The Director is responsible for federal, state, institutional, and third-party student funding in full, leads Falcon's financial aid team, and sets the standards it works to. Before you apply This is a senior role in Title IV administration and compliance rather than an entry point into financial aid. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or four additional years of directly relevant financial aid experience in place of the degree Two or more years of financial aid experience at an institution participating in the federal Title IV student aid programs Experience leading a team or function Personal, hands-on responsibility for Return of Title IV, verification, packaging, and disbursement Completion of Title IV training provided or approved by the U.S. Department of Education Eligibility for employment in a Title IV administrative capacity under 34 CFR 668.14(b)(18) If you have not personally administered federal student aid, this role will not be a fit. What you will be responsible forTitle IV administration Eligibility determination, verification, packaging, and disbursement across all programs Confirmation that each student's funding is in place before they start Return of Title IV governance and execution Satisfactory academic progress funding determinations Cohort default rate monitoring and management Financial aid file integrity, maintained continuously at program review standard Funding beyond Title IV Pennsylvania state grant and PA Forward loan administration through PHEAA Veterans education benefits approval, certification, and reporting Workforce funding programs, and external scholarship and third-party funding sources as adopted Administration of institutional scholarships Compliance and reporting Institutional Title IV risk monitoring Program review and audit readiness for the financial aid file population Gainful Employment and Financial Value Transparency reporting and disclosures Consumer disclosure obligations relating to aid, and the content of the net price calculator Support for the institution's 90/10 revenue reporting Staying current with federal and state student aid rules as they change, and applying them as in force Leadership Leading and developing the financial aid team, and setting the standards it works to Reconciliation of aid records with student records and institutional accounts Coordination with enrollment and academic operations ahead of student starts Minimum requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Four additional years of directly relevant financial aid experience may substitute for the degree. Two or more years of progressive financial aid experience at an institution participating in the federal Title IV student aid programs Two or more years leading a team or function Demonstrated success administering Title IV programs, including eligibility determination, verification, packaging, disbursement, Return of Title IV, and satisfactory academic progress determinations Completion of Title IV training provided or approved by the U.S. Department of Education Working knowledge of federal student aid systems and reporting Experience maintaining financial aid files to program review and audit standard Eligibility for employment in a Title IV administrative capacity under 34 CFR 668.14(b)(18) Preferred qualifications These strengthen an application but are not required. Candidates who have led a financial aid or Title IV team are given preference. Experience leading a financial aid or Title IV compliance team Experience at a career, technical, or health sciences institution Experience as a School Certifying Official for veterans education benefits Experience with workforce funding programs Experience with Gainful Employment and Financial Value Transparency reporting Experience supporting a 90/10 revenue computation Experience through a U.S. Department of Education program review or an annual compliance audit NASFAA credentials, or the Certified Financial Aid Administrator designation Cohort default rate management experience Experience with an integrated student information and financial aid platform Compensation and benefits Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Location and schedule This position is on-site at Falcon's campus in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Full-time, exempt.
