Job Description

Job Summary:
Student employees in the Dean of Students office work to provide strong customer service experience to students, faculty, staff, and guests who interface with our departments. Student employees are knowledgeable about key campus resources to provide support. The positions includes a combination of clerical and administrative support tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Answering phone calls Answering questions from students, parents, visitors, and staff who visit the office Providing information about activities and events Maintaining trip and commuter locker sign-ups Helping to maintain activity bulletin boards across campus Fulfilling orders and inventorying stock for Caesar s Cupboard food pantry Managing student residential lock-out cases in Maxient system Assisting in check-out and return process for residential keys Occasional staffing support at department sponsored programs Discretion and confidentiality are expected Other duties as assigned Education Employment eligibility: Currently enrolled Delaware Valley University student Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide required documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong communication skills (in person and over the phone) Ability to stay calm and not be offended by frustrated students and/or parents Knowledge of campus resources, programs and activities Problem solving skills Positive attitude about
DelVal Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasionally lifting 25 lbs or less Occasionally standing or walking across campus
